Vegan Receipe - 'Bananarama' - Vegan Dessert - Just 1 Ingredient!

Who doesn't love ice cream?

This vegan ice cream is so simple it's child's play!

The beauty is that is made from 1 ingredient so need to worry about 'extra' ingredients from store bought ice cream.

All you need is some ripe bananas, a freezer and a blender!

Chop and keep bananas in the freezer then whenever you feel like some ice cream take them out and blend with a few drops of water and voila you have vegan ice cream!

In the picture above I was content to have it on its own but you can jazz it up by adding fresh fruit, frozen berries or nuts.

For chocolate nice cream simple add a table spoon of cacao to x3 frozen bananas and voila you have chocolate ice cream as shown below.

What I love about bananas especially the ones in Costa Rica is that they are so sweet that you can use them in a sweet dish to replace the sugar!

So for both instances of  this vegan ice cream no sweetners of any kind was needed!

Vegan Snack Review - Dehydrated Banana Slices - Dehydrated Banana Chunks

I love me some bananas...what's not to love? They are sweet, filling and nutrious.

Bananas give a great energy boost and for me personally rank high on Saiety level.

The only problem with bananas is that although portable they have a tendency to get squashed when thrown in a bag with other belongings.

This is why dehydrated bananas are a a perfect snack as they come securely packed and their texture means that they hold their shape!

STOCKISTS IN COSTA RICA

I bought my pack for 1,200 colones at time of writing which was a promotional offer from Max N Menos in San Jose. Maxi Pali and other supermarkets including Walmart also carry this brands product. The price is eqivalent to $2 or just under $1.50 which is reasonable.

TASTE , TEXTURE & SERVING SUGGESTIONS

These dehydrated bananas have delicious flavour and firm chewy texture.

Sweet but not overly sweet, a very different taste and texture difference from eating a fresh banana.

I personally love the taste and texture, it kind of reminds me of eating a natural toffee like version of Haribos!

This is great on it`s own or you could chop them up some more and them to top overnight oats, cooked porridge, vegan ice cream or as a dessert topping.

Banana (Yay! no preservatives or other nasties!)
